Applied Database Systems

This course introduces students to a range of skills required to build Oracle Database Solutions by providing an overview of database topics and development. It focuses on the following main ideas of ‘Database Basics’, ‘Developing Database Applications’, ‘Data Integration’, ‘Database Resiliency and Security’, ‘Machine Learning’ and ‘Data Management’ through lesson slides, videos, hands on labs, section quizzes, and midterm and final exams. Oracle Academy provides you with free access to the Oracle Cloud Platform which is a comprehensive, standards-based combination of Oracle and open source technologies that enable users to efficiently build, deploy, integrate, secure, and manage enterprise applications. Students must be the age of legal majority in their country of residence to receive a Cloud account.

Java Programming

This course of study builds on the skills gained by students in Java Fundamentals or Java Foundations to help advance Java programming skills. Students will design object-oriented applications with Java and will create Java programs using hands-on, engaging activities.

Artificial Intelligence with Machine Learning in Java

This course of study builds on the skills gained by students in Java Foundations and Java Programming. Students are introduced to Machine Learning concepts within Artificial Intelligence and will learn terminology, syntax, and the steps required to create a Machine Learning solution in Java using hands-on, engaging activities.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations I

This course introduces students to basic Oracle Cloud Infrastructure concepts. This course teaches students Oracle Cloud Infrastructure terminology and focuses on the four main ideas of ‘Core Infrastructure’, ‘Database’, ‘Solutions, Platform and Edge’, and ‘Governance and Administration’ through lesson slides, corresponding videos and demonstrations, hands on labs, and midterm and final exams. Oracle Academy provides you with free access to the Oracle Cloud Platform which is a comprehensive, standards-based combination of Oracle and open source technologies that enable users to efficiently build, deploy, integrate, secure, and manage enterprise applications. Application Development Foundations

This course of study introduces students to the techniques and tools required to develop database driven web applications. The course teaches students how to design, develop and deploy beautiful, responsive, database-driven web applications using Oracle APEX. Oracle APEX is utilized to provide practical, hands-on, engaging activities. Leveraging project-based learning techniques, students will create and work with projects which challenge them to design, implement, and demonstrate a database-driven web application solution for a business or organization.

Database Design

This course engages students to analyze complex business scenarios and create a data model—a conceptual representation of an organization’s information. Students will learn how to examine data requirements and design a vendor-neutral relational database. Group collaboration and project management skills are developed as entity relationship diagram models are completed. This course culminates with a project that challenges students to design a database solution for a business or organization.

Database Foundations

This course introduces students to basic relational database concepts. The course teaches students relational database terminology, as well as data modeling concepts, building Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and mapping ERDs. Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler is utilized to build ERDs and The Structured Query Language (SQL) is used to interact with a relational database and manipulate date within the database. Oracle Application Express is utilized to provide practical, hands-on, engaging activities. Leveraging project-based learning techniques, students will create and work with projects which challenge them to design, implement, and demonstrate a database solution for a business or organization.

Java Foundations

This course of study engages students with little programming experience. Students are introduced to object-oriented concepts, terminology, and syntax, and the steps required to create basic Java programs using hands-on, engaging activities. Students will learn the concepts of Java programming, design object-oriented applications with Java and create Java programs using hands-on, engaging activities. This course prepares students for the Oracle Java Certified Foundations Exam (1Z0-811) .

Duration: 3 Months

Java Fundamentals

This course engages students with little or no programming experience to create Java programs. Participants are introduced to objectoriented programming concepts, terminology, and syntax, and the steps required to create basic Java programs using the Alice, Greenfoot, and Java interactive development environments. Hand-on practices figure prominently throughout this course so students can experience firsthand the power of computer programming.
